However, it is up from 21.6 in 2013.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The percentage inequality gap has risen to 32.4% in 2019 compared to 31.8% last year, however it is still lower than in 2013.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" id=\"eyfsp-key-measures-by-ethnicity\"><strong>EYFSP key measures by ethnicity<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>73% were White, 11% were Asian, 6% were Mixed, 5% were Black, 5% were from the Other ethnic group and 0.5% were Chinese<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>70% of all pupils achieved at least the expected standard in <a href=\"https:\/\/cabookie.negup.com\/?country=uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">development<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>in the broad ethnic groups, Chinese pupils were most likely to meet the expected standard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>in the more specific ethnic groups, pupils of Indian ethnicity were most likely to meet the expected standard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>pupils of all ethnicities eligible for free school meals (FSM) were less likely to meet the expected standard than non-eligible pupils<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>in all ethnic groups, boys were less likely to meet the expected standard than girls<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" id=\"eyfsp-key-for-choosing-first-language\"><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>EYFSP key for choosing first language<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The principles of good practice for children learning English are the principles of good practice for all children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Children must have opportunities to engage in activities and first-hand experiences that do not depend solely on English for success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Development in their home language<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Areas of learning, assessed through their home language<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improvement of English within the EYFS profile<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ELGs for communication and language, and\u00a0 literacy must be assessed in English.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" id=\"children-with-free-school-meals\">Children With Free School Meals<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\" id=\"why-this-fact-is-important\">Why this fact is important<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This is a key measure of early years development across a wide range of developmental areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Children from poorer backgrounds are more at risk of poorer development and evidence shows that differences by social background .<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Children are defined as having reached a good level of development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00a0In the prime areas of learning (personal, social ,physical development)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communication and language\u00a0 are the early learning goals in the specific areas of mathematics and literacy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The EYFSP is a teacher assessment of children\u2019s development at the end of the&nbsp; (the end of the academic year in which the child turns five).
